    Default humidifying question (cases)

Hi all, I've been humidifying my instruments with a room humidifier (and a hygrometer) for many years. But this year my son left three of his guitars with us in their cases. There really isn't room to hang them or put them on stands. Will they get sufficiently humidified while in their cases, do you think? In other words, will the humidity in the room penetrate the cases or are they at risk? Thanks!

    Cary,

Unless the cases are sealed tight, yes the humdity will find it's way in.

I humidify my house, all the instruments are in cases unless they are being played and have been fine for decades.

Thanks to both of you, that's a relief. He's got a lovely (not vintage) mahogany Martin among them.
