    Default A-style Mandolin strap

    I'm trying to find an A-style leather mandolin strap about 1" in width. It will actually be used for a small guitar. A non braided style is preferred but I may have to take what is available. This is a difficult item to find. Any ideas?
    Thanks

    Amazon has a 1" leather strap for $12. You can take a leather boot lace and make a loop to run through the notch that would otherwise go around the horn of an F and take it around the neck joint. I also cut mine a little shorter.

    Any piece of leather should do for that (an old belt?) all you need is a hole punch and a sharp knife. I have exactly that on my parlour guitar and my GBOM.

    If you don't feel handy you could contact Lakota Leathers or check these out;

    I use one of these https://www.hobgoblin-usa.com/local/...lin-strap-tan/

    In fact I liked it so much that I had a local artisan make me a copy when they were unavailable earlier this year.

    Big “No-No” for anything with a metal buckle - for commercial custom made straps in the UK go to https://www.pinegroveleather.com/Mandolin-s/1855.htm

    I have one of these on my The Loar A style. I just loop a small lace through it and tie it around the either the peg head (by the nut) or under the fretboard.

    I once bought one and it looks cheap compared to all the other straps I have. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

    Yes, they work, but so would a piece of agricultural string.

    Neotech mandolin strap, make sure it has all the attachments. Light, sturdy,quick, easy to remove, quality built, very comfortable, holds instrument well in place where you want it.
    The attachments allow all sorts of ways to attach to an endpin and neck or neck pin.

    I just take 52 inches of paracord and tie a slip not at one end for the button and make a fixed loop on the other end with a retraced figure eight knot. Been using it for years without issue, but if you have the money I also like the Lakota Leathers strap I use with my electric. Knot: https://youtu.be/G1GzrRYcrM8
