    Default Suggestions for Greek Bouzouki

I'm interested in picking up a greek bouzouki and am curious what makers y'all recommend? I'm currently looking at a matsikas, but I haven't heard much about them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sakis (Matsikas) is a well known large producer of bouzoukis, baglamas, tzouras, and other Greek instruments.

I have a basic bowlback mandolin and a medium grade tetrachordo bouzouki from them. Nice instruments, I've had the bouzouki for about 15 years now.

However there are also many independant small makers in Greece that produce excellent instruments, and are worth investigating.

One supplier in the USA that I have worked with is:

Been delighted with both my bouzoukis by Dekavalas, favoured by Alec Finn of De Danann for many years too.
