Circa 1950 A40 $500 ebay
This Gibson has had the ravages of celluloid breakdown. The effects are not that bad as I have seen worse. The tuners buttons are okay-ish while there are marks etc although not big marks where the wood has been attacked by nitric acid formed as the celluloid breaks down. I don' know if the finish is original. This may be a relatively inexpensive way to get a Gibson- buyer beware!

I’d stay away from that. Your money can be spent better.

Yes I'd stay away, I believe those models have laminate back and sides, with a solid top right? If it was cheap enough it could be made into a KOOL mando with using just the top. I do love the old wood Frankenstein's. But that price was a bit bad. I have heard a few original late 40s A-40's that sounded pretty good.
