Default Superior Deluxe Fiberglass F-Mandolin Case

    Hey There,

Just wondering if anyone has actual personal experience with these cases.

    Satisfied?
    Good construction?
    Good fit for an F-style?
And, very important, can it hold the mandolin with the tone-guard in place?

    Thanks,

    Kirk

    Hi Kirk

Assuming you mean the nicely shaped black fibreglass cases supplied by Saga Music, my wife has one. Very nice case, obviously well constructed, and everything works well. Holds her Kentucky KM1000 in place perfectly.

However, I can confirm that, in this instance with this particular instrument, it won’t fit in there with a Tone Gard attached.

That may or not be dealbreaker for you.

    Hope this helps.

    John

I have used that case and prefer the Crossrock fiberglass case. A bit more room, better clasps, I prefer the top padding as well. The superior case puts pressure on the bridge to secure the instrument. The Crossrock secures it at the tailpiece and neck.

I have 3 of them 2 mandolin cases an A & an F plus one for a banjo. I guess I like them. the banjo case is pretty strong, I can stand on top of it. the mandolin cases seem to have a little flex or give in their tops.

I have one that I use for my A style mandolin for a couple of flights. No problems at all, but the tone guard doesn't fit in it, and I suspect the arm rest wouldn't either. If I needed to use it on a regular basis I would get a different one to accommodate the accoutrements to my mandolin.

I have an A-style one, I like the case but an armrest won't fit so I presume a tone guard won't fit either.

Good low end cases but lack inside storage for stings, pics , tools, business cards, photos of your mother, etc.
