A fun read! Can anyone explain to me what Chris Thile was saying in the video of him playing the Gilchrist at Carters?...about the mandolin being "pitched to C sharp" while the others were pitched to B?

From Evan - "...about the mandolin being "pitched to C sharp" while the others were pitched to B ?" . I can only assume the CT was talking about the ''tuning of the top plate'' ?. Maybe Steve Gilchrist would be the one to answer that question ?,

I'm sure you're right and figured that's what he was referring to. I'm fascinated by the mechanics of tone wooods...and the mechanics of Thile's musical ear to figure that out whole playing it
