Kiitos paljon poika!
Have always enjoyed their music. Saw them a number of years ago in the Twin Cities at the Cedar - wonderful concert!
btw: Europe uses Day-Month, i.e. 6-12 = 6th of December
Thanks - hadn't heard them before* but really enjoyed it.
*OK, hadn't knowingly heard them before but found out that they worked on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack so I actually had
Saw Värttinä a few times a while back. Very energetic, powerful shows. I enjoy their records, too, but the live shows were amazing.
Here's one I like a lot from the Seleniko LP, I think. Starts with some nice octave mando/zouk.

Back when Minnesota Public Radio had The Morning Show, we were regularly treated to Värttinä songs to listen to as we had breakfast and got ready to go out the door.

Yep. I remember that radio program over here in South Minneapolis.
I'm gonna listen to the sound track of "Lord of the Rings" at the annual marathon film fest at the Riverview Theater. All of the movies in one day. yikes! 12 hours of hobbits and the evil eye.
Minnesotan's are a strange lot...
