10th August (afternoon) 2018 at Kennaway House (Cellar Bar), Sidmouth.

Sidmouth Folk Week / An Hour or So with ...

Country: Britain. Style: English Country Dance. & Traditional French.

Lineup: Jean-Pierre Rasle (musette béchonnet/cabrette/recorders/rauschpfeife), Dave Whetstone (melodeon), Paul Martin (mandocello/g), Tom Maxwell (d).

The Cock and Bull Band were formed in 1979, evolving from a group called Hemlock. In the early 1980s the classic lineup of Jean-Pierre Rasle, Dave Whetstone, Paul Martin and John Maxwell released the albums "All Buttoned Up" and "Eyes Closed and Rocking". Maxwell died in 2001, Rasle has returned to France, Whetstone gave up playing for some years and Martin now leads his own version of Cock and Bull. They reunited in 2014 at Towesey and this year at Sidnouth with John Maxwell's son Tom (a melodeon player with the band 4 PM) standing in for his father on drums.
In this photo: Martin plays a Rob Armstrongi Mandocello.
