    Default Sweet spot

    Do you find picking in the sweet spot is more important on the E string? It also seems to me this spot is smaller on the high strings, no more than a quarter inch. Drift from this, and clarity disappears.

    Of the two mandos I mostly play on, one doesn't care much, and the other is very sensitive.

    The ability to pick a darker tone at will is used by classical players, especially on the E string, fortunately that's the mando that cares where I pick it.

    Right over the scoop cand sometimes hovering over the 20th and 21st fret is the sweet spot on this mandolin. On all the strings...
