Carbon Tenor guitar build

I've just started a thread in the Tenor Guitar page on this forum if you'd like to contribute your most welcome. I'm about to order a Carbon fibre Tenor guitar from Emerald Guitars in Donegal Ireland, the biggest question I have is the idea of Fan fretts, what are the pluses & minuses of fan fretts for different styles of playing?

You don't notice them that much while playing, on the other hand they don't alter the scale length all that much and I fail to see the advantage on a tenor (unless it's a 5-string 5'ths tuned tenor).
