I just read on Facebook that John Baxter has passed away......

For those who don’t recognize the name, you may recognize the name of his website Mandozine.com

I never met John, but I can’t even begin to calculate how many times I used his site....what a sad day for the mandolin community.

If you have a second, pick up your mandolin and play a few notes for John.

Where's the family confirmation of that? I'd like to see it in writing before making any announcement. A link? We all know he has been in Stage 4 cancer. Just want to be sure. I've been unable to find it so far. The only source I saw on Facebook I don't consider reliable.

Not necessary. I finally saw the reference on Facebook but I just pause to announce anything like this without confirmation. There's no other information I can find.
