    Jo, you do such beautiful work! And you build them so quickly! Are the back and sides on the baroque guitar sycamore? They sure look like it.

    It looks like real player's instruments - nice wood, well made, not much extra decoration.

    One reason the surviving string instruments have so many inlaid examples is that those were not usually working instruments! The real player's tools were simpler and played to death.

    Thanks! The sides are sapele and the back is London plane.
