Mandola / 12 String guitar

Hi all, does anyone know if the string spacing is similar to a 12 string guitar?

My mandola's string spacing is wider and more conducive for melody playing than my 12 string guitar. My 12 string actually has fairly wide spacing as far as 12 strings (it's an Art & Lutherie).

Thanks for your reply, I would be using it mainly for chords do you thing that the extra spacing at the strumming point would lead to the strings being heard more individually rather than as a nice smooth chord?

The spacing is still close enough that chords will sound like ordinary chords when strummed. It is similar to the spacing on a 6 string guitar, for my instrument at least.
