Hadestown Opens in London, en route to Broadway (tenor Gibson)

An amazing show by the American singer songwriter, Anaïs Mitchell. It's been staged in many ways in many places as the show's developed and grown over more than 10 years, but the reviews are in on its London opening, and it's said to be headed to Broadway.
When I saw the off-Broadway show in NYC shortly before the presidential election of 2016 (current events have caught up with the show's music, written before Trump was imagined as a political power), I loved it as I'd loved the original recording with Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. I asked Anaïs backstage, what the hell Orpheus was doing running around, dancing, sliding, while playing a 1930's Gibson tenor 00? It was a guitar some friend had lent her, and I pointed out that it was not at all assured of surviving the production. ;-)
Anyway, I'm happy to see they've stuck with the vintage Gibson tenor, though it looks like they've found an archtop, maybe an L-7T.
Amazing show, and I'm hoping for ever success for A and the players.

I would love to see this show. The song "Why We Build the Wall" is incredibly relevant.

The original recording with Greg Brown, and the cast recording with Patrick Page, (both killer bass singers) are amazing. But here's a taste from the composer herself with our own, Mr. Thile.
