Everything about this is great but who cares what I think. I will let the video and music do the talking...
Thanks,

Love these guys. Thanks for the post, Dem.
Dude, I had stuff to do! Got sucked in for the duration, and now have some ‘Splainin’ to do to my wife Amazingly tasteful musicians, whose Spotify playlist I’ve been wearing out recently...

I havent listened to them much but this is good stuff

Thanks so much for posting. Myself and the girlfriend listened to Mandolin Orange on loop for a long drive from Cincinnati to Asheville. One of my fondest memories. Looking forward to sitting down tonight with her and watching this video.
Strong-sounding Gilchrist.
I went to college with Clint, the bassist! Makes me think maybe I should have stuck with my music major -- then I could dream about deserving to share the stage with guys like these.
Glad to hear Andrew say he's working through personal loss with music. It's hard to lose a mom too early, and even harder to write a good song about it. Unfortunately I know from experience.
I have all of the Mandolin Orange CDs and enjoy watching their videos. Beautiful mandolin, fiddle, and guitar playing, all serving to put the outstanding songs' melodies, harmonies, and lyrics in the spotlight.

The Gilchrist does sound pretty powerful, though I miss the sweetness and woody 'thunk' of his Sullivan...

I'm a big fan and have been since my son shared their recordings with me. Wow, they are inspiring! Looks like a Gilchrist?
I think their soft style really shows off the tone of that Gilchrist. My wife - as I'm a relatively new player - has always questioned whether mandos really sound that different, particularly as related to price point above $2500. I played her some of this show, and she was like "Oh... yeah. I get it now."
However that was in no way permission for me buy a Gilly.

I first stumbled across them when they did "Wildlfire". I thought they had covered Michael Martin Murphey's song. I couldn't stop listening to them. This one is going in my collection.

Yep. Good reason to have signatures turned on I guess!
Really good set. Can't wait for the new album in Feb!
That Gil sounds spectacular.
No doubt his Gil sounds pretty great but that guy can make any mandolin sound killer...
Just some greater than others...
They do some excellent covers a well. Joe Newberry's Missouri Borderland Joe Newberry's Missouri Borderland, Neil Young's Harvest Moon and Bob Dylan's Boots of Spanish Leather are all beautiful renditions.
Their covers are killer. Not only the performances, but the selections. A few favorites (to go along with the above):

I've Endured
Stone Wall All Around your Heart
Long Journey Home

Yes Pheffernan, my bias is in the public domain....wouldn't mind adding a Gil to my music studio

Bias was the wrong word - maybe infatuation. The Sullivans are awesome and I'm lucky to have found them! You've got quite a nice stable yourself!

Been a fan for a while now. Andrew's been climbing the mandolin food chain. That next step of success is going to be a big one. Those Loars aren't cheap. I love bands who have multi instrumentalists in them.

I stumbled on this video earlier this weekend and have since listened to it twice. It is beautifully performed. Also, my hat is off to the sound engineer. The sound quality is exceptional and allows every instrument and their vocals to be heard at their best.
