1950’s Mandolin

An acquaintance has a F-style Sunburst mandolin that he inherited and describes as a 1950’s unit.
It is 26 1/2 inches long with an a non compensated but adjustable (thumb screws) bridge. Has damage below the pick guard (poorly repaired hole) and appears to have mold inside the body. Solid spruce back. The only writing I find is JAPAN on the back neck plate (where the neck attaches to the body)

Does anybody know what brand this might be?

I was quoted “a couple of hundred dollars” for a price. I’m not interested- the playability and the tone isn’t to my satisfaction. But, any suggestions as to value?

I rembered seeing that hideous scroll in the “Worst scroll of the twentieth century” thread.
This one looks very similar apart from the headstock.
This one is under the Orpheum brand, so maybe made at the same factory for a different importer?

80's or 90's maybe if not newer. It's not from the 50's.
