Heritage Auctions in Dallas has an extensive list of older instruments for sale right now.There are many string instruments, some belonging to Tommy Tedesco. There is a beautiful Vega banjo-mandolin with Handel tuners and a carved back resonator. I played it when it was in the shop being set up. It plays and sounds nice, but then it should for $1300.

It's funny - as a collector of game-used sports memorabilia, I often go to the Heritage website . . . but this time the collection of instruments eluded me. There was some very nice and/or historic stuff in that auction, (probably too expensive for my bank account) but I hope they went to good homes. I will have to keep my eyes more carefully open in the future.
