Posting vs not posting your finger on the top

best mandolin in a specific price range (under $100, over $20,000)

    is a $10,000 mandolin 10 times better than a $1,000 one.

    should i upgrade?

    Eastman or Kentucky...

How many mandos is too many.

Some want answers. Some want conversation. Some want both.

Sometimes we just need to tell others who understand our obsession about our latest mando news.

Its all good and this is the best forum I have ever come across. Mostly because the members are helpful and respectful and

The mods do a great job of bootin trolls.

Yes, if you’re changing strings because obviously it’s the best way

    But otherwise.....

This is a good place for conversation and (hopefully) information for folks. While I am still a member of a few other sites, generally this is the only one I bother looking at these days. Has the most information and generally the best discussion on the pros or cons of things.

And remember - it all depends. So the Bluechip Guard might work best, but Bill Thiele never used one. But Dawg Burns tried it once and liked it and that's good enough for me.

I just looked. It doesn't appear they are but when you search for bluechip pick or blue chip pick you get many other manufacturers up.

Seriously, the contribution of top level players like Don Stiernberg, Aaron Weinstein, Andy Hatfield, David Grisman and others adds a lot to the fun. The same applies to some of the high level luthiers who take part.

A thread called "Gripes about repetition on other threads" would last for decades.
(I might contribute myself. And I might be the subject of griping, as well.)

Exactly. Capo and painters tape for holding strings down, and a $50 string winder get the job done right. Also don't forget that a strobe tuner has been proven over and over to out perform any snark tuner when it comes to tuning. snarky but undeniable truth right there

Yup. But I'm learning that not all strobes are equal. Am finding differences between Peterson, TC Electronics and a Korg Sledgehammer Pro.

My favorite was when a member called out Danny Roberts for the way he dressed during a show and Danny answered him. That was classic.

This weeks mandolin that won't get a bid or buyer is always good when a new post pops up.

I also enjoy the occasional "To plant the pinky or not" threads, just to see how many people are still doing it wrong.
