You have a very individual style, Mark, and it certainly suits this song. Great performance and video.

Great singing and Playing Mark ! Really enjoyed it !
The tv dinner photo took me back to 1965!
I remember how exotic and space age it seemed -- fortunately the memory is much better than the food was!
Good job, Mark!
This is great, Mark! I like it better than the original. Thanks for sharing it.

I agree ! Hope Chuck is not listening wherever he is ! I went to a Chuck Berry concert on a river boat down in Alton, Il when Chuck was 82 years old but his performance was WELL beyond his prime ! But, I guess it is better to have had it and lost it than to never had it to begin with like me !

Great job, Mark!
From Jeff D - "...fortunately the memory is much better than the food was !". And how !!!. That was the time in the UK when folks had actually started venturing overseas on holiday,& food manufacturers were anxious to tempt folk to buy their dehydrated dishes in a packet, such as Spaghetti Bolognese / Chilli Con Carne / Chicken (or 'whatever' ) Curries etc. They were GHASTLY in the extreme. I remember my mother buying a packet of 'Vesta' Beef Curry - truthfully,we'd have been better off eating the packet,

Chuck Berry, the greatest mandolin player on guitar in all of rock and roll. Thanks for proving my hypothesis again.
Excellent work Mark!
Nice photo montage, the feasting looks like it was fun!
I always like feasting!
Remember “Space Food Sticks”?
Sawdust held together with Guar gum and artificial chocolate flavorings, truly awful stuff! As a kid, I think I made it through one box and never went back!

I remember those Space Bars. Before they put the chocolate on them, they were dog biscuits.

That was great, Mark! Huge fun and very nice playing and singing. Thanks for posting it!
I can't believe I missed this - it is a great interpretation, Mark. I admire your growth on the instrument.
Tang & Space Food Snacks ... I kept eating them & drinking that junk because I really wanted to be an astronaut, and thought I'd have an advantage if I was already used to it. It made sense at the time.
Great stuff, love the playing and singing.

In case anyone is interested in the mandolin solo I made for the intro of this tune, I'm sharing it here. The video is from a recent practice session I recorded on the bank of the swollen Brazos River in Falls County, Texas, where I play that solo with fingering visible at a moderate tempo. I also often write out music I'm composing so as to be able to remember what I was doing; the PDF has virtually the same licks in standard and tab. You can download the PDF by clicking the weird looking black box on down there.
