It's interesting that Andrew plays an oval-hole A-style, rather than his usual Gibson F-style. Maybe he wanted a more mellow, laid-back sound?

yea! Loved this so much the first time I saw it. I have never been a Neil Young voice fan but love some of his tunes and this was always my favorite. They killed it!

Thank you for this. Great tune, fantastic performance. They did a nice version of Harvest Moon a couple of years ago. Andrew’s mandolin playing is superb and I love her voice.

This band can do no wrong IMHO! And Andrew has MAS as bad or worse than the rest of us....

Very nice! Thanks for posting that. I consider Neil Young to be one of the best songwriters of the Rock era. Mandolin Orange do a great job with this tune.

They are big fans of Neil. They have covered "Cowgirl In The Sand" for a long time, both as a duo and with the band.

Loved it, Kevin. The pedal steel especially! Daryl, The first one with the Gibson paddle head is incredible. My favorite band!

Thanks for sharing the "Cowgirl in the Sand" video too. I loved the steel guitar solo, but felt a little drunk after trying to keep up with the camera movements.

They do a good version of that great song. Neil still kicks it though (despite no mandolin) the best...

He brings out the best in every instrument he plays. If the market was going soft on those ovals, it just got stiffened up.

They just sound so good. And looking at them play, you can see that they are really living and breathing the song in that moment.
