Thumbs up good deal on open-back tenor banjo (143)

No relation with company beyond ordering one of these:

I put a simpler tailpiece on it, armguard, and a shorter bridge I still need to file down. I wanted to fit Irish tenor GDAE strings on it to mando it out, but the stock strings in jazz tenor tuning sound so pretty on it that I'm keeping it this way to pluck until I really want to hop over. I'll probably just chunk the nut out and shape a new bridge/nut to be able to easily switch. Tuners are good, too. If you haven't learned how to set up cheap instruments yourself, it's a great trip. It honestly did not need all of this beyond a setup (sanding/filing saddle down and setting the nut up for good string fitting, the tailpiece was potentially a little buzzy with the lid flap thing)

Hope some of you instrument hunters enjoy
