Cool.
Specs for the lefty?
What pickups are you putting in? (Single coils apparently )
D
This e-mando will have two blade style mini-humbuckers; I’ve used these on all my e-mandos and like the ability to be able to simply switch the configuration of the coils and get two different tones. It will also have a piezo transducer under the saddle for an “acoustic” sound. They’ll be wired up to a stereo out-put.
As it’s a custom build the nut will be 33mm and the scale 360mm to suit the client.
Cheers Gary

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the positive comments- work is now underway on the octave e-mando-
here's the wenge body.
And a nice Brazilian mahogany neck with an ebony head overlay.
There are a few more photos on my blog and a bit about the construction too.
Cheers (and have a good Christmas) Gary

The left-handed e-mando is now complete and I must say that I’m incredibly pleased with the outcome. There are a few more photos on my blog.

Gorgeous work as usual Gary!
My 4 year old son is a lefty, so I am now more aware of left handed instruments. I hope his interest in music grows enough to get you to make another one in a few years!
Daniel
Thanks Daniel, glad you like it.
My Grandson is left handed too. I believe about 10%of the population is left handed but what surprises me is, that although I’ve made a number of left-handed instruments, it would only account for 3% of my total output. I would have thought that being a maker of custom instruments, I would have had more requests. Maybe lefties are forced to play right-handed?
Cheers Gary

You’re right it is about 10% of the population. However I don’t agree with the forced to play right handed comment. I tried to play left handed but found it far easier to play right handed.
I suppose it depends on how hands on you are with tools etc as they are biased right handed too. With many impossible to use left handed. So you tend to end up ambidextrous to a certain degree.
Beautiful work as usual by the way.
