Born and raised in Boone. Currently live in Fleetwood, just across the county line in Ashe County. God's country!

    Well, howdy neighbor.

Interesting thing is on another forum I used to frequent we did a gathering, made friends all over the state, it was a great thing, most of us are still in touch.

I grew up in Brevard and lived there until going to college at Western Carolina (Cullowhee), then Candler, Hendersonville, Mooresville and now Statesville.

We should try to get a group together for a mando tasting & jam sometime!
I can get us into a couple of places in Troutman (just off 77 and just south of 40) if anybody would be interested in pursuing that idea further.

I think that would be great to get us together to see the faces behind the posts and explore the different mandolins. Please let me know if you can get it together. Thanks!

    Drew,

You know I'm in with this. And I could possibly get some heavy hitters who are not cafe lurkers to consider a tasting/jam. Where do you have in mind?

Born and raised in Chapel Hill and still consider myself a proud Tar Heel, despite not having lived there for quite a few years now. Most of both sides of the family are still in the triangle area.

Lived in K-Vegas (Kernersville) for ten years about twelve years ago. So I guess it doesn’t really count...

I guess it would depend on who all is interested and what our location spread looks like east v. west. Statesville area is relatively central but if most are from one side or the other we can shift around. Availability of a venue is another consideration of course. Maybe plan around an existing festival of some sort?
