Default 30's Gibson F-7 RW "Loar Buster" and 1936 F-5 Fern video links?

Here is an idea of what these instruments can do to those who are interested, The F-7 conversion I played for the first time with these guys and flubbed a few notes and didn't do my real high break I usually do but still ok.

The other is of my doing some improvisation on the old Daybreak in Dixie tune on my 1936 F-5 Fern, both real great mandolins. Comments good or bad are welcome

Hopefully I'll be able to do some more with some other old Gibson's soon! Hope you enjoy!

My wife may be able to help post later today, I was looking at everything and even trying to move the video to a new file but for me it might as well be in Chinese! So no luck tonight with the Fern posting! Bummer!

Maybe today I can figure it out as I downloaded the facebook video to my computer files/documents but now still can't post because you need a www. thing that comes up when trying to insert the video, using above icon 2nd from the right? I'm clueless as of now how to post it!

Ok I'll ty this as she did something to share with the public, let me know if ya'll can watch now? If not I'll have to get a you tube account? Sorry for all the posts on trying to post this, very frustrating to me with limited tech knowledge! William

If I can figure this out I'll be able to post for you old Gibson mandolin lovers my really rare 1935 Gibson F-12 all original and another F-7 conversion by RWood, a 1934 and an original 1939 Gibson F-7, also a real rare 1of 7? 1937 Cromwell F-style "Gumby" a 1935 monster sounding Gibson A-50 with elevated board and when I get her back from Randy Wood a 1958 Gibson F-5, that one will have a new neck to my specs, a full internal re graduation and new tone bar placement to Loar style specs with a virzi! And when I get it back from Gary Vessel a 1924 Gibson Tenor Lute to mandola conversion. Maybe a few more goods I have laying around also like an all original 24 Gibson Tenor Lute with banjo neck and all-FUNNY!

Yep for those of us who are not on Facebook, I don't think it'll make any difference how it is shared. Its my understanding that only FB commercial accounts are visible to non FB users.

I agree with the above sentiments that it be put on YouTube.

Well I spent 2 hours trying to get my old youtube account active as I forgot password what a hassle, I'll try again later, what a pain!

I'll try and figure it out as I really want to post old Gibson mandolins that many have never heard before! Some really rare pieces from the depression era mostly!

Alright it worked finally after a lot of computer torment for a guy like me, I'll try soon to get some slow something so you can hear the tone better of the old 36 Fern F-5 " I've played tons of 30's F-5's after this one and none compare!!!", and let me know what else you all would like to hear as I have an original 35 F-12 "maybe 1 of 4 left original", original 39 F-7, My Loar Buster F-7 in above post! 34 F-7 conversion, 37 Cromwell G-6 "1of7" Original Gumby F style! Also a 35 elevated board A-50 and a 24 Gibson Tenor Lute-original and a 24 Gibson Tenor Lute to Mandola conversion by the great Gary Vessel-a very dark sounding machine! Also a December 1st 1924 Gibson F-5 with Virzi signed by the man somebody named Lloyd Loar! Also I have that 1934 "Joe Wilson" F-5 copy that was talked about 10-15 years go here on the café, Its getting fixed right now as it needed serious help and David Harvey is doing the work and IS the man for the job! This one changed hands a lot I believe but no one put any ash into her and its such a killer old mando I can't believe no one did so well I am!! I have more but let me know what ya want to hear next and I'll get on it! My wife recorded the last one on her Kindle so that's pry the best I can do unless someone has any tips? Will

Do Ya'll want to hear a different mandolin yet, Name it?
The previous old 36 Fern in the Daybreak tune is a mandolin that I had to have after hearing her on the Dusty Strings website/you tube demo they did and one with the GREAT David Grisman and his beautiful wife backing him up, it had the tone for sure, well David can pull tone out of the cheapest toy out there but this one spoke to me and MAS is a serious affliction!

Thanks for the videos. Since you have a very fine stable of instruments I would very much like to hear them all.

As a suggestion I would like to hear a video that
    - presents two instruments back to back per video (which limits the effort to record just two demos)
    - take it slow (which helps to bring out the tone better)
    - play in a small room (to prevent natural reverb and give a dry recording)

Most of all: Enjoy your mandolins, they sound great.
    Olaf

I haven't had much time with the holidays to get a video up on my 24 Loar but here is the Demo of it for those who would like to hear this fine horn!

This one is what I believe Loar was going for in his last year, as he was a Virzi advocate, these ones seem to have a more refined tone. They aren't an in your face power mandolin but have certain overall elegant voice.

Is that yours? If so, congrats.

    But...

I´d rather have you play it (like I said in my previous post). Why? Because you played the other mandos as well. So the direct comparison holds a higher value for me than having someone else play the instrument.

One more thing. I really appreciate your effort. There´s the "post a video of yourself" thread. There´s the "song of the week" group. There´s the "I´ve got this new..." thread on most anything you can have mando-wise. I frequently read these threads. They get my urge going to post videos or soundfiles in them (or open a new thread myself). Yet, alas, time is of the essence and I don´t have the time. I wish Tom Isenhour, Scotty Adams, SternArt, F5Joe, LoudLoar and others I have on my radar would post some (more) music. This would really make my day. But I believe they have as little time as I do.

So... my hat is of to you for your effort. I´ll be waiting for your videos. Take your time but get them done.
