Default Sam Bush in the Raleigh paper

It doesn't look as if the Raleigh News & Observer has posted this interview online yet, but folks in the Triangle who can pick up today's paper might enjoy a conversation about his career.

Since the newspaper never posted the link to the interview, this turned out to be a dud of a thread.

Please accept my apologies, along with this brief video of Sam from Saturday night's show at the Cat's Cradle in Carrboro. He started this jam by saying, "We've had a request ... but I'm gonna keep playing."

This post got me to watch some Sam Bush Band videos, I admit I've never done this before, still new to this mando thing.

NewGrass ala SBB seems to be about adding an electric bass, drumkit, no fiddle, and a fusion between old rock-n-roll/blus and bluegrass sounds. And lots of great playing. :-)

Liked the pickups (instead of mics), missed the fiddle player though.

Next time I show up with an electric bass (or a mando with a pickup) I'll blame it on Sam... :-)
    Eastman MD-605SB, MD-604SB, MD-305, all with Grover 309 tuners.
Fender Mando-Strat, Godin A8. Tin Guitar travel mandolin.
Zoom G3 for all my plugged-in signal processing.

Oh Sam plays "electric fiddle" in that group, always high energy and great music, but I kind of prefer the intimate presentations of dual mandos or Sam and some other picker, just really showing some great great playing.
