Default Billy Strings @The Loft (City Winery), NY 7/17/18

Now that's a hoedown! Great jamming bluegrass band. Billy Strings (William "the" Apostol) has his own band of gypsies, Billy Fielding on Banjo, Royal Masat on Bass, & Jarrod Walker on Mandolin. Great blend of strings. This is like the Lost Pizza Tapes revisited. It's just so good, Ya gotta give them a listen if you haven't already. My mediocre videos don't do them justice so I've included a cleaner grab. A sound so refreshing it's invigorating.

    I see he's playing Sutton's old Martin.

He is high energy. I doubt he ever give a lackluster effort on stage

You know he jams out when he's got a pick guard both above and below the sound hole! BTW, I can see myself in the Hartford Festival video. I didn't realize I look so gray from the back!
It ain't gotta be perfect, as long as it's perfect enough!

That Martin used to belong to Bryan Sutton. It had been converted to lefty when Bryan bought it, and he left the extra guard when switching it back. There are some awesome videos of Bryan using it with Michael Daves.

I just caught the band again in Brooklyn, They're just getting better, I love these guys. Most dates are sold out, but there's a couple dates not ( https://billystrings.com/tour/ ). The Brooklyn Bowl had a 2 night run with both sold out, but limited tickets at the door. The tour is hot and the new album kicks. I caught the 2nd night at the Bowl and the 1st night was streamed live on Relix and is out there for those interested.

    Here's a video from night 2.
