    Default 6 & 7/8's String Band

I have been enjoying Ranald's posts presenting players doing rags and such. I was just listening to these guys this morning and thought I would share.
They have been discussed here in the past but it has been awhile. Oh and the mandolin player, I believe is Bill Kleppinger.

    New Orleans longest-lasting string band!

I first heard recordings of theirs in the 1970's when the jazz museum was still in the basement of the Royal Sonesta Hotel.

They had listening stations and after hearing all the famous horn players and pianists, I came across the 6 and 7/8's music.

Well I loved it, as a string player, this was string Dixieland!

    It sure ain't Bluegrass
