Default Website by Paul Sparks dedicated to Clara Ross-Ricci (1858-1954)

If you haven't yet read Paul Spark's article about Ladies Mandolin Bands in Great Britain, it's really interesting (Clara Ross, Mabel Downing and ladies’ guitar and mandolin bands in late Victorian Britain, Early Music, Volume 41, Issue 4, 1 November 2013, Pages 621–632).

I encountered Paul recently at a musicological symposium in Mainz (Germany) where he shared with me that he has now started a website in honour of the forgotten mandolin heroine Clara Ross. He's not as adept as I am with social media so he asked me to share the news around.

Thanks for that, I am listening to the Sicilienne, after having had a crack at it, I wanted to hear how it should sound Pretty piece.
