    Default Thanks!!!

I'm not sure who recommended getting a pair of reading "cheaters" but I did and they work great!

For the past few years, my age has dictated that I wear glasses and I kinda like the progressive lenses. Well, reading sheet music with them requires that I tilt my had back and look down my nose to read.

I went to Publix, got a pair of "readers" in 2.00+ for about $15 and problem solved...!!!

    THANKS!!!

Yup. A life-saver! I get 'em new at Goodwill for $3 a pair.

I have them in every room and in the car - 1.5 for most reading and 3.0 for dim light and small print. Right now, I'm wearing the ones I keep in the pen cup by the computer.

The ones I take to work are bifocal, so I can keep them on no matter what I'm doing.

I also have two pairs of sun cheaters (not $3) - one for the porch and one for the car - but they're a little cloudy, so I'm saving up box tops for these: Bean polarized sun cheaters

I expect they're OK if your eyes are the same on both sides. With mine, the prescription for the left is way off that for the right and I suspect that they would drive me cross eyed.

Buy two one that fits the right eye and one the left change the lenses to make a good pair that will work.

Or for addes snazz-appeal, get two pairs that don't match, cut 'em in half, duct tape a two new pairs together, wear one right-side up, and wear the other upside-down.

I get mine (+3.25) at Dollar Tree for (you guessed it) $1.00 a pair.

I've got "readers" stashed all over the house. Couldn't do without 'em.

I get them at the Dollar Tree as well and have them in the car, in my music room, office, etc., etc. Makes a big difference.

The thing that always puzzled me is that frames at a eye glass place cost about 50 bucks but you can buy those readers for less than $10 and some of the frames look just like the ones at the eye glass place...

I like Pop`s idea of getting a complete pair that works for both eyes...

I think it's a matter of hinge construction. Expensive eyeglasses have hinges with screws into metal bushings. Cheap-os have a thin.metal pin driven through the hinges. That's where mine always go bad. (Actually the $1 glasses are far more robust than the flimsy 3/$9 ones at a Wal-Mart).
