    Hi all,
    I'm not sure this is the right place for this sort of question, but if there are any Melbourne-based* players that could recommend good Mandolin teachers, I'd love to get in contact with them. I've been trying to learn on my own but lack theory knowledge and the structure of actual lessons. Anyway thanks in advance!

    I'm not Melbourne* based, but from there and usually visit at least once a year and poke my head into a session or two.

    You could try Tony O'Rourke, https://www.amtr.com.au/music-teachers/tony-orourke

    he might have moved out to the country but I used to see him at sessions in Melbourne.
    More Irish style but can play bluegrass pretty well.

    Craig Woodward who has played in various old-timey bands around Melbourne for twenty years or so also offers lessons.
