Man, I could've sworn I heard that tune somewhere else before, and after a bit of digging...

I first heard a version of it in a tycoon game soundtrack over a decade ago under a different name but couldn't find the original for years, and only just now learned the actual tune it's based on through this Sam Bush interview.

Probably wasn't your intent, but thanks for finding it!

Old Hoss has some impressive volume!... I had to turn the volume down on my Laptop when he started playing... its late in my house and I'm the only one still awake

+1. Either Sam speaks very quietly, or that mandolin has some nice volume to it.

He states that there is a tape of Norman Blake and John Hartford stripping the finish off. Wow.

Discussed in March in a thread bump here: Sam Bush's Mandolin He Got From Norman

rcc56 has some interesting backstory history he shared...at that time in March, I had taken the original Facebook video post and uploaded it to my YouTube channel...

Sam discussed all this with Happy Traum as well in the video series, All About Rhythm Mandolin! He says that he heard the audio tape long ago, where John was acting as an MC of sorts while Norman was scraping the mandolin in a hotel room. He says "nobody knows" where a copy of that tape can be had these days.
