GDAE (it's called tuning, not chord) alone does not provide enough information. At least the scale length should be known for a recommendation.
But if you are happy with the string gauges you have now, find out what they are and order single guitar strings of the same gauges online. Since you said the TG takes ball-end strings, guitar strings should work.
the world is better off without bad ideas, good ideas are better off without the world
OK, thank you!
Hi Morix. the John Pearse Tenor Guitar 80/20 Bronze, .013 - .042 strings are popular.
If you have a 21" scale then the G will be a little weak but they will still sound OK.
Well you can also make up your own sets to match your own guitar.
As Bertram says, you can buy single guitar strings.
It depends on the actual guitar but I always start off with .12p .18w .30w .45w.
Hi Greenhorn, that is fine as you might just love your string choice & find they feel & sound great for your guitar
However I don't find .45 for the G to heavy for my taste & in fact it is not a high tension string anyway.
There are a few string tension calculators available on line & they can certainly help with initial string choice but you can get slightly different results from different sites.
Anyway here are the average string tensions taken from two popular sites ....
Your choice .... 13 = 21.5lb 20 = 22.5lb 30 = 21lb 40 = 17lb.
My starting point set 12 = 19lb 18 = 20lb 30 = 21lb 45 = 21lb
Both sets are safe & fairly low tension so it just boils down to personal taste.
