I've only been playing the mandolin (or anything for that matter) for about 5 years, and in that time have really become infected with MAS. I started with a low-end/low cost plywood mandolin and went up from there. It amazes me how fast this condition progresses, and I'm curious as to others' experiences.
My own progression is:
1) Rogue-type A style mandolin from Guitar Works (still have)
2) Michael Kelly Firefly F (sold)
3) Eastman 515 (sold)
4) Wasburn Jethro Burns (sold)
5) Mid Missouri M4 (still have)
6) Homemade concrete mandolin (still have)
7) Eastman 514 (traded)
8) 1915 Gibson A1 (traded)
9) Bill Pruitt #1 F (still have)
10) 1989 Stiver F (traded)
11) 1919 Gibson F4 (sold)
12) 2017 Tyler White #9 (still have)
I know that some of you have had so many mandolins that you probably can't remember them all, but give it a shot! For the sake of space, (and in deference to the Mandolin Cafe!) let's just consider mandolins instead of adding in other instruments such as tenor guitars, fiddles, etc.
