good morning to all in mandolin land. does anyone out there use this instead of wrapping the strap around the neck of their A style mandolin.

No ... I had a strap button installed on the heel. It keeps the strap out of the way. If the instrument is of collectable vintage then I won't put a strap button on it. R/
I love hanging out with mandolin nerds . . . . . Thanks peeps ...
I use one on my main guitar. Makes it easier to attach the strap to the neck. I never have used it for mandolin yet but might try it.

You can buy a strap with QR connector buckles for $20. I use these for banjo, very comfortable and makes packing in case a lot faster/neater tho I'm not crazy about the feel of neoprene : https://www.amazon.com/Neotech-Mando...dp/B000EELBQ4/
Kentucky km900
Yamaha piano, clarinet, violin; generic cello;
a pedal steel (highly recommended); banjo, dobro don't get played much cause i'm considerate ;}
Shopping/monitoring prices: vibraphone/marimbas, rhodes, synths, Yamaha brass and double reeds
I will not install a trap button on the neck heel. But I do have traps for my A models. I like the quick release idea since I don't usually keep the strap in the case and it is a pain to tie a rawhide strings through the headstock under the strings. That Neotech strap is a good idea tho I would still not store the strap in the case with the mandolin. I would be worried about Neoprene affecting the finish.
