Can't wait to see photos of the finished mandolins. Best of luck to both of you two; I found the wait for completion really difficult

I really like the looks of the wide grain pattern on the top. It's going to be a great mandolin!

Here's a sketch of what the pegged inlay is going to look like, featuring the silhouette of my crazy Beagle Janey Mack! Difficult to see because the lines are so fine but if you click on the blurry image you'll get a bigger image that is nice and clear!

    Getting close....

Since this photo has been taken Max has fit the neck to the body, glued the back on, made the fretboard and inlayed the peghead overlay!!!

Looking good Jill. Have you decided on a color scheme for the finish?

Yes, it's going to be a Cremona-burst finish, similar to the finish that was on one of Max's A5's that The Music Emporium had for sale last year.

I'm trying to keep up with Jill, so here's her mandolin's sibling ...
I think mine is going to be a burst top and an amber burst on the top & sides.

I saw them post progress pics on their facebook and this is a real beauty. They talked about the type of cedar they are using in your mandolin, and I am so curious to hear it in action! Congrats!
