    Getting closer..

I have cleared the way for this one by selling my beloved Collings MTO. I am now "stuck" with only my PW Crump octave mandolin until it arrives.

I've a very biased opinion, but I think you made the right decision Gary. The collings oval is nice, but the Girouard is fantastic. The back of yours is going to look stunning once it's stained. And the rosette looks class. Congrats Gary

I'm with Sean on this - I really liked my MTO and had to sell it to help pay for my Girouard but honestly don't miss it at all, it wouldn't get played if I still had it.

Those of you getting one of these with a cedar top are going to love it!! I have a Big Muddy, with a cedar top over mahogany (oval hole), and it sounds wonderful. Full rich round tone.

The Girouard is looking great Gary. I promise to take good care of the MTO once it arrives here in Maine.

When he calls it "beloved," I think you are probably getting a very nice mandolin also!

I did - too bad I'm strapped financially right now or I'd be sorely tempted....

Played many ovals at Gruhn's over a year ago from almost all the top end builders and NONE compared "to my ears or eyes" to a Girouard ! Since then I had a custom A oval ordered from Max which I play today and Max and his wife are presently building me a Concert F4 with a Port Orford top ! You made a great decision !
