I just saw photos of your mando on their fb page and holy cow is that thing gorgeous. Good for you!!
Wow! That is one gorgeous mandolin. Everything about it looks perfect. I hope you find it sounds every bit as lovely as it looks.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a top as stunning as that! Amazing!
Beautiful!... congratulations, Jill

My two favorite pastimes are drinking wine and playing the mandolin but most of my friends would rather hear me drink wine!Adapted from quote by Mark Twain------supposedly !
The entire mandolin is beautiful, but that top really is something special!
I love that top ! Hope you will provide some sound clips after you receive it ! Max is building me a F4 Concert but won't be finished until late 2019. He previously built me an A oval which I LOVE with an Engelmann top. I was going to have a red spruce top but not sure now after seeing your Port Orford top ! What would be the sound differences between a red spruce and Port Orford cedar top? Not for Bluegrass but old time and Celtic. I'm sure Max will provide answers later on in the build !

That is a very beautiful mandolin ~ if it sounds anywhere near how it looks, you've got yourself a keeper!
Play it in good health

... not all those who wander are lost ...
I'll definitely get some video up of the Girouard once it gets her and acclimates - due to arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed! I'll be sitting in the lobby of my apartment building with a good book from morning on waiting for it (the doorbells for the apartments in my building are notoriously unreliable, so I'm not taking any chances!).

Stunning instrument. Absolutely breathtaking. Is it spirit varnish?
Jill
that is amazing!
and as others have said, i'm sure it will have a killer voice that matches the looks!
definitely keep us posted, and good luck in the morning for an early arrival.

Well, that is a new first for me. A topless mandolin.
(Because it has two backs).
Really, it IS a new first. Quite a stunning piece of mandolinery. Congratulations to both you and Girouard for a beautiful collaboration.
