Anyone else catch this show last night? One of the best concerts I've ever seen. Several members of Bay Area bluegrass royalty were in attendance and a few appeared on stage briefly, including Laurie Lewis, Bill Evans and Mike Marshall. Sharon Gilchrist was also in the crowd. Simply stunning virtuosity. I was unaware that they had a new bassist (Aidan O'Donnell - who is phenomenal). I expect most folks here know this band, but just in case you are not familiar here's a link with more info. Dan Gabel of Peghead Nation was also in the crowd. I felt like a fawning teen when I went up to Joe after the show to thank him for his music. He was gracious and humble in his reply. Very excited when Darol announced they are working on a new album.
"Well, I don't know much about bands but I do know you can't make a living selling big trombones, no sir. Mandolin picks, perhaps..."
