I'd say if you find one you like, don't exchange mandolins at a jam with someone who owns a vastly superior instrument! I love my Kentuckys, but swapped my 505 for a Gibson (just for one song) and couldn't believe how thin and weedy the sound of my own instrument seemed once it came back to me. Prior to this I had always been extremely happy with it. I suppose this is why we keep moving up the food-chain.
