Default Anyone know about this case in a Northfield ad?

I was scrolling through Facebook this morning and saw this ad from Northfield:

Anyone know what that green case is? It looks lightweight, maybe rigid foam construction, and with canvas exterior. Looks like it's got some fancy latches too. Anyone seen these in the wild before, or could they be something new from Northfield? I'm stumped.

I've seen those latches before - on a mates guitar (or possibly banjo) case. I can't get in touch to ask him this week as he's in Belgium!

Why don't you contact Northfield and ask them?

I visited Northfield's Marshal shop back near the beginning of December. They had a couple of these there. They were working on a lower cost purchased option to add alongside the in-house Airloom case. Looked great. If/when they become available, I'm interested in one to replace the original rectangular case that came with my NF F5s.

That's great! I got my Smart about a year ago and still have not gotten a nicer case for it to replace the TKL A-style case that came with it. I'd love something lightweight that's a little more rugged than the Travelite cases. I hope they develop them and put them out on the market especially in ~pretty colors~

Company producing the case is at the NAMM Show so plans to visit and look over today. Likely post about it in the NAMM thread but don't expect it today necessarily. Lots of ground to cover and mandolin things to see. Seems to be an uptick from last year.

Having had a good look & read re.that case,it looks to be a very nice case indeed. Plenty of room around the headstock for once !. I'd like to know a bit more about the weather /impact resistance of what appears to be a 'pressed fiber' shell. I'll assume that the makers have done their homework & everythings fine.
'Whatever' - i'd bet that none of these will be hitting the shores of the UK any time soon ( yet again !),

I had a friend text me a pic of this case yesterday in several different colors. It's possible it will be discussed and shown some at the NAMM show. I have the black oblong case and I LOVE it. If this case (and I'm sure it will be) is half the quality of the oblong it will certainly be a good one.

Yeah, the thread Jim has linked to has more info on these cases. Sounds like the green and black/dark grey? ones are water resistant and the brown/natural one is being described as water proof. Also states that they aren't meant to compete with Calton/Hoffee type cases as regards protection, but are aimed at being a lightweight case that's a step above foam cases.

Cool to see those at NAMM now! I'd love to see one in hand. My bet is they will sell like hot cakes. About time a good maker started selling higher-quality lightweight cases.
