Here's something from 2011. I only took two or three photos of it before I sold it and I really wish I had at least traced the body outline onto a sheet of paper. I had some mahogany scrap that was too small to make a full size guitar. I just scribbled the body outline on to the wood freehand and made a pair of necks. I really liked how the body shape came out and I also got lucky with the bevel contours that I copied from an Epiphone SG. The top is a mandolin (13" scale length) and the bottom is an octave mandolin (24.5 scale length). Set mahogany neck in mahogany body. Hand made tailpieces and bridges. The neck even has binding with the little Gibson style nibs. The pickups are a pair from '70s American Fender bass and they work well. The finish is off-white lacquer. I'd like to make more. I can't find the guy I sold it to.
