I'll be updating it throughout the year as I always do.

Stay tuned, and hope to see you there next summer!

been going almost every year since 2005. Great festival and well put together. Good blend of great bands and great jams. I learned a lot when I started playing by going to Greyfox and learn more every year

I'll be working the main stage again

The first three or four years I was still living in NY and I'd be there for a full week (the Friday before the festival opened to the Monday after). Built the sound scaff, helped with monitors stuff and worked the stage for the most part.

The travel there is not necessarily as easy (or cheap) as it used to be - but working the stage has it's benefits.... I've met Sam Bush, Chris Thile, David Grisman, Marty Stuart, Del McCoury & the band, Mike Marshall, Darol Anger, Tim O'Brien etc. I've even jammed with a few of them backstage. Mike Marshall gave me my first lesson backstage at Greyfox while he was eating an apple

Would love to meet up if you're going! Let's try to get a MC meetup!!!

This will be my first year at Greyfox, and I'll be camping in Picker's Paradise. If there ends up being a Mandolin Cafe get-together, count me in!

Also, any Greygox veterans have any advice for a newbie? How is the camping, and how difficult is it to find a good spot? I know at some other festivals, getting a good camping spot can be a challenge, to say the least.

The "rodeo" starts Wednesday but it's based on the line that started Monday (or the Friday before for some) - so, the earlier you get there - the better the spot you can find.

The tree line goes really quickly for obvious reasons - but if you have a few ez ups, it makes tree line less needed. If you're going solo with a small footprint, it should be easy to find a decent spot. If you're with a few folks and/or have a larger footprint, you make just need to take what you can get. There's nothing wrong with camping in the family / quiet camping provided you're okay with jamming elsewhere. I used to camp there as it made sleeping through the night really easy

We have a group of 10 - 20 depending on the year and setup a bunch of tarps and ez-ups for shade / coverage and hang out in Picker's Paradise too.

    See ya there!

OK, it's a few days early, but here's my annual story...

In 2008, while waiting for my ride to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival, I was reading the local newspaper and saw this...
