One more
Looks real nice so far, Neal. Do my eyes deceive, or is the hole kinda D shaped?
Wye Knot
Idunno, looks oval to me, but we'll see...
The back
I think you're right. The end of the fretboard causes an optical illusion making that side of the oval appear flatter. Or maybe I've just been staring at this monitor for too long.
Wye Knot
Headstock close-up please, sir.
Wye Knot
Ahhh, these are all that are sent.....I promise to post more when I can
Shouldn't be long, Don works fast.
Didja ask for anything special on this one; neck, frets, tone, etc.?
Wye Knot
AAAWWWW Indeeeed!
Another Happy Pomeroy owner on the way!
Looks terrific Neal, very excited for you.
Richard
Thanks Rich, and I did ask for the larger frets, slight radius-12", soundhole rosette is different, snakehead, blacktop, wanted it to sound like a 70's harmony, but he said no go on that, so I'll have to settle for that nasty Gibson-like roundhole tone. I also asked him to buff it up a little shinier than the regular finish. Neck is the soft V, about as wide as a teens Gibson A. But he promised me he'd put the frets in the right place, so it won't be an exact copy. Can't wait.
Heeheee, ask Don for the 14th fret marker.
(Who's Pomeroy was that anyway?)
Wye Knot
It looks like the ghost of a future mandolin.

LKN2MYiS- 'twill be a black topped beauty, an ebony princess, a dark shining star, oh that's far enough....
Not done yet, a week to cure, buff out, then FedEx.
Congratulations Neal! That's a fine looking mandolin--will look forward to some performance reports. Regards, Mike
Thanks Mike, I'm looking forward to it, and rest assured, I'll let ya know...
