Great band and a fun tune. Don't think I've seen tabs for any of their work before. The mando parts in that song aren't too difficult though, have you tried figuring it out by ear?
What do you call that style/genre?
"The paths of experimentation twist and turn through mountains of miscalculations, and often lose themselves in error and darkness!"
--Leslie Daniel, "The Brain That Wouldn't Die."

Yea, a bit. Havent had much time to mess with it. Was really hoping to find some tabs to get me pointed in the right direction. They are a great band and have some worthwhile mando tunes. Shame people havent put any effort into tabbing any of their stuff yet. Oh well, if I get around to it I'll be sure to post what I figure out.
The band in general or the song?
As far as the band.. hard to say. Their songs vary a bit in genre. Could be called folk rock, americana, modern bluegrass(?), punkgrass, folk blues, indie..
That specific song, I dont know. Seems like drinking tunes would be a good place to start searchin for similar songs. Maybe look into irish/celtic drinking tunes.. I'd bet Dropkick Murphy's has some stuff that would fit the criteria.
If your lookin for some similar bands, check out Poor Mans Poison, The Devil Makes Three, and maybe some Colter Wall.

'ran across them a few months back. Here's my favorite: (warning - no mandolin content)

Their tour dates are here: http://thedeadsouth.com/tour-dates/
Unfortunately for you nothing in the US but good news for me is that they’re playing a few miles down the road from me.
I first saw them at the Dakota Tavern in TO a couple of years ago when they played the same night as a buddy of mine.
This song really got my attention. The followed it up with In Hell I'll Be In Good Company and I was sold.
Playing the Horseshoe Tavern next month. Such a fun live band.
Cool. Those strings made me long for my wire snips
That was one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to!
Featuring the classic bluegrass lineup of guitar, banjo, mandolin and, er, cello they have their own blend of high energy punk/bluegrass
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a band so obviously enjoy themselves so much on stage.
Think they’ve got a few more UK dates left!
I know nothing about video production other than I love theirs.

looks like the banjo player shaved.
If I get a break tomorrow I'll see if I can knock out a transcription.

sorry, forgot the OP asked for tab. easy enough to add the tab. A couple clicks of the mouse and just like magic a tab score is right there....
Thanks!
Hi there Bad Monkey,
would you have the mandolin tab for The Dead South's 'In Hell I'll Be In Good Company'?
I'd be very grateful if you could provide it.
Kind Regards,
Craig.
sorry. I'm pretty busy lately, been on the road for a couple months. Since St. Paddy's actually. Finally done with that leg and back home.
I just knocked that one out on my laptop since we were on a rest for a couple days and actually had reliable wifi and had some time to kill.
I’m a 5 string Bass player and new to the Mando but loving my first and new Eastman. I see several software programs and apps that will Chord any song that it can hear. Most of the music I’m interested in playing is super fast, single notes “Poor Man’s Poison” for example, The Dead South rocks as well. Does anyone know where I can find any sheet music or tabs for this fast action Mando style I so love to play. Thanks !
I stumbled on this band down the YouTube rabbit hole today. Ended up watching a whole concert. Loved them! Maybe not for everyone but I would go see them. I feel like I must live under a rock for not knowing about them.
