Thread: Washburn F-5..

    Default Washburn F-5..

I have a line on a Washburn F-5 style mandolin at (what I think) may be a good price.

Anyone out there have any experience with these? I'm wondering how they stack up against other F-5 styles from builders such as Eastman.

I have not played one for six or seven years but the ones I played at a shop in NC were less than acceptable. The tone was thin and the fit and finish were horrible.

Washburn is on my short list of brands I advise folks not to buy.
    For reasons stated above.

Eastman is quite reliable. Your chances of getting a lousy instrument from them are small.
