Thread: need Luthier near Gainesville or Ocala to scoop my FL

Question need Luthier near Gainesville or Ocala to scoop my FL

Longtime lurker, 1st post in a long time!

As Irma approaches, like Nero, I'm choosing to play music & ignore the rest.

I live in between Gainesville & Ocala, have had a heck of a time finding good luthier here.

Have a Weber Yellowstone Oval that I'd love to scoop the extension on. It's driving me crazy as it keeps me off the mando's sweet spot for trebles.

Don't want to try this myself as I know my limitations & this mando is a real nice one.

If anyone has recommendation for good mando guy for setups & repairs please lmk!

Thanks in advance for any replies as power may go out soon.

Put that Weber in a trash bag, then into a tub, and wrap it all in a tarp and duck tape. Then call us next week.

ps: I just used a Dremel tool on my Weber Vintage F after much trepidation and self-doubt. It came out quite nice.

in the mean time -- stay safe.

    Hi-

Didn't know that there were any other mandolin players living between G'ville and Ocala - I've got a 2-point Stiver already scooped.

    Cheers

Wouldnt just lopping off the offending extention be a lot easier and accomplish the same thing?

Anything past the 19th fret is a hindrence to picking. And that click clak is maddening.
