check out this trio in Pittsburgh from the fifties. The Stradolin is awfully shiny, have never seen a finish like that.

Would like to have a banjo guitar, always wanted one. Would have loved to hear what they were playing.

Way back when, a friend of mine had a Framus guitar banjo, played it like crazy, what a cool instrument.
He found a second tailpiece and was going to have a fancy one made, got a Great Lakes arch top tone ring, Birdseye maple,John Janzeger(sp?) 3 ply shell, he was ready to get that done and the world happened and it all went under the hammer.
The TP he'd sent to have engraved and nickel plated, it came back and was really one beautiful piece of work! I really wish that had been built, it would have been spectacular!
Those were the days!

Got to get me one them hats, too cool ...
Salvation Army issue, per the caption. I'm used to Salvation Army street-corner bands having brass instruments and drums, but a female string band is mighty neat.

A copy of this pic should go into the female mandolin player's thread!
