That's a real beauty! Every time I see one of those I want to buy one…
And that nugget tailpiece looks amazing, have those been upgraded in recent years?
I should be pickin' rather than postin'
Very, very nice.
Sweet. It should have a great voice, too! Color me jealous!

The Nugget tailpiece is a recent invention of Mike Kemnitzer and sold through Northfield Mandolins. Very nice people at Northfield!

Well, I got home from work at 6:30 pm and have been playing it for the last 2.5 hours. It is loud and sweet and easy to play! I intend to break it in over the next couple of months and then perhaps I'll post a video. However, its as good as all the Poe Scout videos currently on YouTube.
It is such a great pleasure to play this instrument. I wish you could all give it a try.

wish you the best! I love my #68 I got back in December. It has truly changed my previous prejudice against the A/N style mandolin.

Beautiful!
What is the black stuff under the strings on the tailpiece?
I ask because if it is what I think it is - some sort of spongy black rubbery-plastic - it will disintegrate over time. 10 years maybe? Looks easy enough to replace but best to keep an eye on it just in case.
That is the coolest looking pancake/Army-Navy mandolin I've ever seen.
