Default chords to Travelin Down this Lonesome Road

I've asked this in the past and was led to some great You tubes, but I still can't seem to hear the chord changes to this great Bill Monroe tune. Does anyone have the chords or know a website where I might find them? All the websites I've pulled up on Google have the lyrics but no chords. I would be very grateful to be able to play this one at the next jam. Thanks,
    Daniel

Well, my down-home answer is: no IV chord (or maybe a passing 1/2 bar), with I-V-I being the word of the day....pretty solid chart, no?

    Hi Daniel - Search here :- https://play.riffstation.com/search?...onesome%20road

''Riffstation'' doesn't have 'every tune' on it,but it's a good place to start,

The way I hear it there is only two chords...Home chord and the 5 chord like Alan said, some people might want the throw in a 4 chord but it don`t need to be...you are in for a lot of hard times learning songs if you can`t hear those chord changes, pretty simple song ...I know some people don`t play or want to play by ear but it is almost a must when playing bluegrass because finding music scores to the songs is like looking for a needle in a hay stack...

Thank you Ivan. That gets me in the ballpark. It's a little more difficult to get the chords not already on top of the words, but if I take it slowly and use the pause button, I believe I'll get there. Thanks, again. I'm just surprised that it's not already on the web somewhere.

Here are chords in G. Note that the Monroe version is in F.

These are the chords from the "16 Gems" book, transcriptions by Butch Baldassari and Rob Haines

I'm [F] traveling down this lonesome road, Oh [C] how I hate to go [F]
The wind and storm are raging high and it's awful cold.
My mind gets back to you, sweetheart, and I love you so.
Now you've gone and left me here to [C] travel this lonesome road.

    Verse:
I [F] remember dear not long ago you [C] said you'd be my [F] own
I never thought you'd go away and [Bb] leave me all alone [C]
The [F] kind of love you had for me I find sweetheart grows cold
But now you've gone and left me here to [C] travel this lonesome road [F]

The change to the C chord and F chord at the end of the 2nd and 4th lines of the verse come during the words "alone" and "road," respectively

Yeah I don't hear it either, and I just tried to play it that way and it doesn't sound right. It seems like the verse and chorus would have the same chord progression.

The melody note in the verse and chorus at spot in question is the same, the note is in both chords. On the chorus the singers harmony makes the C. You could go to the C in the verse but Bill didn't. He done something similar in several songs.

I almost hate to play two chord songs. In many I hear a change that is not being played, this happens with a VIm regularly. In others I just keep hunting for more chords because most songs have them. Alas ...... R/
