Default Have Gibson headstock overlay any suggestions on what to do with

I ended up with a headstock overlay that says Gibson , pretty sure it isn't a Gibson. Looking for suggestions on what to do with it.

Get the cheapest F style you can, remove the old overlay, and glue this one on in its place! Instant upgrade!

Too bad it's not a flower pot. You could have made one of these.

Definitely not Gibson and, looking at those scrolls, you could probably catch fish with it.

Stick it on a PAC rim and call it a conversion.

With out the binding attached, those scrolls look like they could be correct.

The first image is the pegged from a 1925 Fern. The second is just the overlay from that same 1925. Kinda looks like what original image looks like.

I would put it in a picture frame and hang it on the wall.

Not a Gibson. The script is too large. "The" (closed) and "Gibson" (open style) are mismatched. (Today's mismatched MM-scripts are different.) So even if you used it to "upgrade" another mandolin or even have a good maker use it on a copy, it wouldn't look right (aside from the legal aspects). You might just frame it and hang it on the wall, maybe as a study object next to other Gibson-scripts.

Yep, then take it to a pawn shop and get a $1000 "loan" and use the funds to buy a real Gibson!!!
